A Productive and Experience-Rich Cooperation Between Three Schools in Sakartvelo

Date created 25.05.2026

From 18 May to 31 May, the K24 cookery student group is completing its practical training in Sakartvelo, Georgia.

During the first week, our students took part in several masterclasses led by cookery teachers from Akhali Talga. The students learned how to prepare traditional Georgian dishes such as khinkali, chikhirtma, khachapuri and ojakhuri.

This year, Valga County Vocational Training Centre, in cooperation with IVKHK Cosmos, also organised a two-day masterclass for Georgian bakery and pastry students. The masterclass was conducted by Dmitri Filippov, vocational teacher of bakery and pastry at IVKHK Cosmos. During the practical sessions, students prepared sandwich cakes, cake pops, handmade candies, madeleines and spring-themed cookies.

In addition, Juri Gerzanitš conducted a masterclass connected to Valga County Vocational Training Centre’s participation in the Green School programme. The masterclass focused on how to prepare delicious croquettes from leftover chicken and thereby reduce the environmental footprint of the kitchen.

The week has been rich in both professional skills and cultural experiences. Among the most memorable moments were the visits to Makhuntseti Waterfall and Temo Estate and Winery, where we had the opportunity to learn more about Georgian cultural heritage and experience genuine Georgian hospitality.

We sincerely thank our partners for their warm welcome, meaningful cooperation and valuable learning experiences!
